Many well known Parisian attractions are a short walk from here, but you may prefer to simply wander the narrow crooked streets, filled as they are with hidden treasures and grand old buildings, many of them centuries old. The Seine is ever-present as you explore, tempting you over its many beautiful bridges and onto ‘the mainland’.
This apartment dates from the 18th century and its pedigree is evident from your first steps inside. Gorgeous tapestries, and soft furnishings complement the beautiful architecture and each room is accessorised with beautiful period objets. The furniture speaks of a long-ago era when the craftsman was King, and each piece further imbues the space with authenticity of the period.
A fabulous salon, grand bedroom and master bathroom are to be found at entry-level. The bedroom has hand painted drawer fronts and doors, reminiscent of its stately past. A fully equipped open plan kitchen displays a gorgeous array of hammered copper pots, granite countertops and an unexpected leaded glass header above the pass-through.
Every room here offers a surprise, but none more so than the basement-level rooms, accessed by a circular wooden stairway. The vaulted stone ceiling arches overhead and gives this cosy and remarkable space its particular flair.
