Description
This 2-bedroom apartment stands on the 4th floor (with elevator, a rarity on the Ile Saint-Louis)
Very spacious by Paris standart, the flat offers a large and sunny living room, a dining room, and two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom. It has cable TV, telephone, hi-fi, and DSL connection.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge and freezer, coffee machine, toaster, oven microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer.
The only flat inconvenience is that the 2 bedrooms are not independent (so far nobody has complained about that): one has to go through a first bedroom in order to reach the second one; the first bedroom has a double bed, the second bedroom a single bed, and there is a very comfortable sofa-bed for 2 guests in the dining room. The apartment has been remodeled not long ago and is furnished with a beautiful mixture of antic and modern.
Location
Ile St. Louis - perhaps the most special spot in the most special city in the world - is only six blocks long and two blocks wide. This quaint little island, with no subway stop, is an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Three metro lines however, can easily be reached by crossing the appropriate bridge to the Left or Right Banks. You'll be one of a community of about 6,000 surrounded by 16th and 17th century mansions, with their beautiful stone-paved courtyards; fashionable shops, and terrific restaurants.
Each time you cross the Pont de la Tournelle, "on the way to the continent", as the locals like to say, you'll have a breathtaking view of Notre Dame that will leave you dazzled. The Latin Quarter on the Left Bank, and the Marais on the Right Bank, are just short strolls away. This is truly the heart of Paris!
Stop for a moment to admire the stunning gothic architecture of Notre-Dame cathedral. Then wander onto the islands of "Ile de la Cité" and "Ile Saint-Louis". Right next to the colorful market of the Place Maubert and the boulevard Saint-Germain, steps away the Sorbonne University, Luxembourg Gardens and the open-air market of the rue Mouffetard. For those wishing to visit much of historic Paris on foot, this apartment is ideal!
