Front row views of Notre Dame!

Refined charm with postcard Paris views

Draw back the curtains to reveal front-stage views of the Seine and Notre Dame. This is where the city began: in the Latin Quarter, with 400-year-old buildings lining narrow streets, and Notre Dame presiding over it all. The view is yours.

Inside the apartment, Old-World elegance pairs with today’s convenience: modern fixtures and contemporary design have as much of a home here as classical flairs like Louis XIV armchairs, weathered hardwoods and charming patterns.

With two full bathrooms, you can take your time at the mirror before setting out to wander the medieval streets. Duck into Cinéma du Panthéon, shop the open air-markets on Rue Mouffetard, or browse the classics at Shakespeare and Company.

Or prepare an intimate, at-home meal. An art-filled parlor waits to host your post-dinner conversation. Before bed, glimpse the nighttime illumination of Notre Dame and the Seine one last time—they are even more striking after dark.

Wonderful views of Notre-Dame for our 60th anniversary!

"Bonjour! Everything has gone smoothly. Christine was very helpful and pleasant, giving us a very thorough introduction. The apartment is much as we imagined with the wonderful view of Notre-Dame cathedral. It is well equipped and Christine had several goodies for us including a bottle of champagne for our anniversary (#60 no less— we were married at ages 21 and 20 and look younger than our current ages!). And we love the area with all the restaurants! So, a very nice start!" Arlene & Manuel K. from Mount Pleasant, SC

Felt like home

"This character apartment (built in 1743 apparently - pre USA and a lot of history has marched past the windows one imagines) is nicely presented with a decent amount of space comfortable furniture, modern fittings and well function plumbing - plenty of hot water and two showers. The toilet is rather small and strangely located and the access to the shower in the boudoir warrants care. The decor is subdued and the view of Notre Dame quite special. It is helped by having a small but functional elevator such that carrying suitcases up spiral staircases as is so often the case in Paris was obviated. We cooked the odd meal here - mostly breakfast and the place is perfectly functional - probably because it is used by its owners such that the silly little things (sellotape etc) are able to be found. The apartment is well located to shops and restaurants and cafes of varying quality - they seem to get better the further away from the main roads and Notre Dame you go. Ample food markets and shops as well within easy flat walking distance. The nicest thing about the apartment is that returning to it feels like returning home. It is a bit noisy (main road, and if you open the windows you will get noise, traffic and cigarette fumes - but that is the French.

Great Apartment, Great Neighborhood

We rented the Notre Dame apartment for a week in April through Paris for Rent. The apartment was accurately described on the Paris for Rent web site and met all of our expectations, especially the views of Notre Dame. After landing in Paris we called Christine on the “greeter line”. She told us that Carlos would meet us at apartment and gave us his cell phone number. However, we did not need to call Carlos as he was waiting for us when our cab pulled up. Carlos gave us a complete run down of the apartment and showed us how to operate the dishwasher and the clothes washer and drier and made sure we were connected to the apartment wi-fi. The apartment was well equipped and was spotless when we arrived. This apartment is in a great neighborhood and the owners have prepared a good set of notes describing the local restaurants and shopping alternatives. The local shops in and around Place Maubert, which is only a two-minute walk from the apartment, are the way to go if you are stocking up for a week or so. Along the south side of Place Maubert you’ll find a fromagerie (cheese shop), a boulangerie/patisserie (bakery), a vegetable store, a poissonnerie (fish market), a boucherie (butcher shop), and a great wine shop. The wine shop has very good wines displayed in cases outside for only 4 to 6 euros a bottle. Place Maubert also has an open-air market three mornings a week. We have rented apartments through Paris for Rent for seven years and have never been disappointed. We will continue to use Paris for Rent in the future.

The neighborhood has the feel of a small village and students mix freely with professionals in its winding streets. The rue Mouffetard is a primary artery where shops, international restaurants and student bars and cafés are found.
